Crawl space moisture control

Clean, dry crawl spaces protect the home above.

A damp crawl space can create odors, humidity, wood concerns and comfort problems upstairs. The right plan controls ground moisture, drainage and air movement together.

Questions

FAQs about crawl space waterproofing.

Is a vapor barrier enough on its own?

Sometimes, but not always. Standing water and active seepage usually need drainage first. The vapor barrier protects what’s already dry.

Will this help musty smells upstairs?

Controlling crawl space moisture removes most of the conditions that cause the smell. We can also recommend ventilation or dehumidification when it makes sense.

Can crawl space work be combined with basement repairs?

Yes. Many homes need a whole-foundation water-management plan, and the two systems often share drainage and pump components.
